Some Needed Rains on the Way
Written by John DiPasquale:
Cold front & low pressure riding along front appears to be just what we need to make up for this almost two & a half inch deficit on Friday. Between now & then there will be a scattering of showers & a storm or two later today into Thursday with decaying upper level & surface low slowly departing to the north & east across New England Thursday.
Behind the front depicted above, it will be seasonably cool & breezy with some sun & a maybe a lingering morning shower, but overall it looks mainly dry Saturday right now. A more significant cold front will then blow through Saturday night & behind this it will be quite chilly & blustery for mom's day & the start of next week with highs only between 50 & 55 with a lake effect shower or two even possible. At this time, though, it looks mainly dry for Mother's Day weekend into the start of next week, but there will likely be a risk of a little lake effect thanks to the unseasonably chilly air mass blowing in. We may even see some frost in spots early Monday, & especially early Tuesday. Stay tuned. Temps will rebound some for the middle of next week, but that may only be temporary as another shot of cooler weather may attempt to build in for late next week...
Have a great day & have the umbrella handy over the next few days.
I can't BELIEVE it's raining! ROCwhine
ReplyDeleteThis is the pattern. We get to a 2-3 inch rain deficit and then it rains for 2-3 days and we erase it. then it is dry for another 2-3 weeks and we repeat it. The airport has picked up about an inch since yesterday but where I live not much at all yet.
ReplyDeleteNice nice nice, then the Lilac Festival comes and the weather cools down and gets wetter.
ReplyDeleteThis seems to happen most years.
5 minute monsoon at my house in Henrietta about 10 minutes ago. Awfully glad to see that rainfall deficit shrinking.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't we get a nice gentle rainfall?????? It always has to be a freeking monsoon.
ReplyDeleteThe NWS has rain in the forecast for everyday next week. What are they smoking!!!!!!
