What Is Dewpoint & Why Should We Care?
The dew point is the measure of moisture in the air, which determines the "comfort factor" outside. Dew point is given as a temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. The higher the dew point, the less comfortable it feels outside and vice versa. The reason dew point is so important to how it feels outside is because the more moisture there is in the atmosphere, the less efficient your body is in evaporating sweat off of itself (your body's cooling mechanism), and therefore the harder it is for your body to keep cool. As temperatures heat up, this process also lends to overheating dangers, especially for those involved in strenuous activities.
