April showers, May sunshine!
May has been magnificent mainly due to a persistent area of high pressure over the Eastern United States. This strong ridge acts to force storms to ride up and over our region. Even when fronts do make it here, they run into very dry air and fizzle out. May 2007 will go down in history as the driest on record with a measly 0.24" of rainfall!
