Incredible Hail In Springwater

Didn't think huge hail could fall in Western New York? Well, this picture from a News 8 Now viewer, Laurie Faith, proves that fact wrong! Strong to severe thunderstorms Thursday afternoon produced hail rivaling an inch in diameter. The biggest measured hail was up to about two inches in diameter! Although Springwater is at a high elevation, generally making it easier for hail to reach the ground, this is still a pretty notable achievement for our neck of the woods.

    Down where I moved from I have seen Baseball size hail...Kansas City, MO

    Wow! Much more common to have hail that size in the Midwest in that Tornado Alley region.
