Blistering Heat In The South

Triple digit heat is punishing over half the Nation this week. The current pattern will keep the extreme heat in place into next week. The jet stream is across Canada while a massive dome of high pressure over the Gulf Coast state pumps hot air into the heart of the country. The most extreme heat and humidity will be targeting the Southeast; however, 90 and 100-degree heat will continue from the central Plains to parts of southern New England. Western New York will likely brush 90 degrees a few times over the next week.
