Near-Record September Heat
Written By: Jonathan Myers
With high temperatures forecast well into the 90's across much of the Eastern U.S. on Friday (pictured left), it will be a torrid end to a couple of hot days that will round-out the first week of September. Thursday's high was 94, while 94 is also the forecast again today. This puts us a good about 20 degrees above average for this time of year.
Though Thursday's heat was not in record territory, with the record of 98 from back in 1881 still standing, today's record is 95 from 1960 is in serious jeopardy.
The heat won't be lasting for that long, though. 70's should return just in time for the weekend.
