Heavy Lake Snows Strike Rochester

The regions first significant lake effect snowfall will continue through Tuesday afternoon. The snow really began picking up during Monday afternoon. Snow, heavy at times will continue Monday night into Tuesday morning. Strong Westerly winds will cause extensive blowing and drifting of snow. Snow may fall at the rate of an inch per hour at times late Monday night and Tuesday morning. The snowfall map on the left shows predicted snowfall amounts. Generally 6-12" of snow is forecast North of I-90. Localized amounts over 12" will fall by Tuesday evening. If you must travel, take it slow! Please email pictures to weather@rochesterhomepage.net
