More Strong Winds On Wednesday
Written By: Scott Hetsko
Low pressure will strengthen in Southern Ontario early Wednesday morning. Lowering pressure, combined with strong winds a few thousand feet above Earth, will create wind gusts up to 60 mph on Wednesday. Much colder air will be pouring into the region with temperatures falling from the 30's Wednesday morning to the 20's by the time you head home from work! No significant lake effect snows expected because the strong winds will limit the amount of time the air has over the lake. Only snow showers expected.
This is getting old. Time to warm up the generator again.
ReplyDeleteI know I thought this high wind thing was rare in Jan?
ReplyDeleteHow would you compare this event with the January 9th event
ReplyDeleteI don't expect another line of storms to help mix down 75 mph gusts but I wouldn't be shocked to see a gust over 60 to 65 mph. Enough wind to knock down some tree limbs. This is rare for January, usually March is the month where we would expect these type of events. We're seeing it early because storms are tracking just North of Lake Ontario and strengthening as well. This combination equals high winds.
ReplyDelete80 mph winds in Indiana right now with the northern extent is beginning to develop.
ReplyDeleteHey Scott--are you still anticipating a bad March?? Cold? Snow? Both?
ReplyDeleteNWS seems to be saying fairly warm here to Mid Feb--then I see a lot of cold out west now --is that going to come here at end of Feb?
