A White Start To Thursday Morning

Written By: Scott Hetsko

Wyoming County has been getting hit hard with lake effect snow on Wednesday with 6-12" being reported through late afternoon. There is also a single band of lake snow along Lake Ontario. Winds will shift this band into the Rochester area overnight and early Thursday. This will result in about 4-8 hours of snow North of the Thruway. Accumulations will range from 1-4" but up to 5" is not impossible depending on how long that band can hold together. The band will lose it's strength once winds become Northwesterly. Travel early Thursday morning will likely be tricky but it should all end by mid morning.

  1. Strange how variable the snow was for this event. I got <1" at my place (Spencerport east). My plow guy showed up assuming we had snow like most of his customers and found almost nothing. He said some of his customers out in Hamlin had 10".
Glad it missed me. Now warm up.
