BLOG: 12/29/2008 HERE WE GO AGAIN, MORE WIND

Written by: Brian Neudorff

Here is a forecast snap shot from our Storm Predictor for overnight Monday into Tuesday morning. Once again our winds are going to increase as another storm system slide across western New York.

Unlike the last two wind events on Christmas Eve and Sunday the gusts should not be as strong. Peek wind gusts should be around 40 mph or a little high but I don't expect 55 to 65 mph.

I also expect the National Weather Service out of Buffalo to issue wind advisories later on in the day for tonight into Tuesday. The NWS in Buffalo issues a wind advisory when the average wind speeds are between 31 and 39 miles an hour, or for frequent wind gusts between 46 and 57 miles an hour.
