THE FUTURE OF IDA
Written by: Brian Neudorff
Ida made landfall as a tropical storm near Mobile, Ala., at 7:00 a.m. EST. The main threat with this storm has been the heavy rain. Since 8 am this morning, parts of Florida. Alabama and Mississippi received 3 to 4 inches of rain, with more forecasted in northern Alabama and into Georgia.
Through out the southeast rain amounts of 4 to 6 inches are possible through tonight. Some places in north central Georgia could see amounts as high as 8 inches. Of course all of this heavy rain causes major flooding concerns for the next 24 hours.
Wednesday the remnants of Ida will be spinning towards and through the Carolinas. This will bring heavy rain and also strong winds for the Carolina coast all the way up the coast into part of New Jersey.
