NEWS 8 WEATHER ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Maybe you do it, maybe you've heard about it but the News 8 Weather Team can be found on various social networks, especially on Twitter. Ask anyone at News 8 and FOX Rochester who tweets the most and you'll probably hear my name. I will admit I am an avid tweeter I find it an excellent tool to get weather information out and also receive important weather information from others in and around Rochester. I will be honest that I also incorporate my some behind the scenes information as well as a look at my own individual life.

So what is Twitter? Twitter, as I mentioned above, is a social networking site, similar in a way that Facebook and MySpace work allowing you to connect with a wide variety of people. An even better description of twitter would be to call it a microblog, because, with twitter, you’re only allowed 140 characters spaces to make your post or tweets as they are called.

I may be the most active on Twitter but the rest of the News 8 Weather Team also uses twitter. If you would like to join and follow us and be part of the conversation beyond just this site then here is how you start: create a user account on twitter.com Then start by following the News 8 Weather Team: Scott Hetsko, Bob Metcalfe and (me) Brian Neudorff and even News 8 for News Headlines from RochesterHomepage.net.

If you are on Facebook you can also become fans of News 8 and News 8 at Sunrise. With the News 8 at Sunrise fan page on Facebook I update the forecast every morning, and answer questions when they are present.

I know all of the above sites I mentioned are not for everyone, but I thought I would share and if you are one of these people who uses these various tools then here is another way to stay in contact and communicate with the News 8 Weather Team.
