OUR PATTERN CONTINES, JUST LIGHT SNOW

Written by: Brian Neudorff

We're not in a really exciting pattern. That system that moved through on Tuesday and brought snow to parts of New England has anchored itself around Maine and Nova Scotia. This will continue to flow chilly, moist air into the region from now through at least Friday night. We can expect more of these occasional light snow showers from time to time.

Last night's snow was the largest snow even we've seen this month of February with almost 4 inches of snow (roughly 3.6") We could see another wave like that later this afternoon and evening. There is an upper level disturbance that will drop out of Ontario later today and this could get enough help from Lake Ontario that we get another 1 to maybe 3 inches of snow later in the evening commute.

We will then see more off and on light snow showers (Nickel and Dimes) with no more than maybe a coating to an inch during the day Friday as weak ridge of high pressure noses in and gives us a little break for the weekend. There could be a few flakes around but it looks like we could still see some sunshine.

  1. Brian,
The NWS discussion is talking about a low cutting off over our area early next week. I'm also hearing about this storm that may or may not impact us early next week. Is that one in the same? Also, what do the latest models suggest?
