SUMMER AIR HERE LATER THIS WEEK

Written by: Scott Hetsko

An early season warmup is in store for Western New York later this week. After another mainly gray day with showers Tuesday afternoon and evening, much warmer air will flood the area beginning Thursday. High pressure will drift into the Carolina's Wednesday night. A strong flow of Southwest winds will deliver much abover average temperatures away from Lake Erie. We'll reach the middle 60s Thursday but thanks to downsloping of air, Friday and Saturday will be near or above 80 degrees. Normally warmer spots such as Dansville, Naples, and Bath.

The record high for Saturday is 80 degrees in Rochester, I think we've got a good shot at it! So get ready to enjoy some early Summer weather here in the beginning of Spring! By the way, March will end without measurable snow for the first time in recorded history! More on this later in the week.

  1. Scott,
Will this warmth be enough to get the trees blossoming early?

  3. This warmup will be brief so the trees probably won't be too fooled but we are headed into April. Pollen counts should be going up in the coming days. As for the kids...get out and PLAY! Great weather from Thursday through most of the Easter weekend.
