A WARM APRIL START, NO FOOLIN'!

Written by: Bob Metcalfe

You should be salivating at this image if you want spring back. After the ridiculously cold air of yesterday, even the mid 40s felt fantastic today. Well, I can do you one better. In fact, I can do you 20 better. Degrees that is.

The closer to next week we get, the warmer it looks! Building high pressure will ensure sunshine for Tuesday and beyond next week, but it will anchor itself just east of the Delmarvas, ensuring a heat-laden southwest flow of warm air by Friday and Saturday. These are 850mb temps, and they're in the 15-20 degree celsius range. That means that the air a mile and a half above the surface is already going to be at 60 degrees or more, so with any warming at the surface we can crank above that. My guess is that we see a lot of 60s with the potential for 70s in a few lucky spots by next weekend.

Nearer term, just some showers passing through during the day Monday. It won't amount to too much, as we have a decent supply of dry air ahead of the storm, and its relatively quick moving.
