  1. Scott, are you going to do the 'backyard barbecue' this summer? Just wondering.

  2. Yep! I'm sure we'll be starting it around Memorial Day

  3. I live in Rush, NY, a couple miles south of the Thruway, can the lake breeze off Ontario ever make it that far inland?

  4. The effects you'd feel from a lake breeze would be weak at best. You're on that 10-15 mile or so limit where they usually peter out pretty well. Most of it is limited to areas just south of the 104 line.

  5. How cold is lake Ontario right now?

  6. I live in Henrietta, and i'm pretty sure i've felt the lake influence down here. It's nothing like being on the lake, when it hits 85 at noon and drops to the 60s by mid-afternoon.

But it's more of a subtle drop around 3 or 4 o clock each afternoon. For example, I've experienced temps near 90 around the noon hour, then drop back into the mid-upper 80's by mid afternoon. And if i'm not mistaken, it usually is reflected in the airports temp as well. We've fallen short reaching an expected record high before because the lake breeze shaves off a couple degrees at the airport.

  8. Does this record warmth mean anything about this summer, or is it just a random occurrence?
