ARE WE HOT ENOUGH?

Written by: Bob Metcalfe

Scott wrote about the monthly rain, so I'll scribe a few words about the status of the temperatures. Earlier this month we were well on our way to placing in the top 10 for warmest July's. Turns out, we've slacked off a bit. To crack the top 10, we need to attain an average temperature of 74.3 degrees (from 1999). Our average has "suffered" a bit recently with our highs closer to normal and now sits at 74.1 degrees. Today's warmth could bring it up a bit, but the more seasonable weather we expect to round out the month could leave us as just another July.

Also of note: We hit 90 or better 4 times already this month. That's more than all of last summer. Consequently, we've only been below 80 for highs a meager 3 times! You should've seen my RG&E bill from running the A/C!
