A HEAT WAVE THREE YEARS IN THE MAKING
Written By: Scott Hetsko
The past few Summer's have been kind of wimpy in the temperature department. That is about to change as high pressure drifting off the East Coast will become a BERMUDA HIGH by Sunday. Strong Southwest flow of hot and more humid air will result in a true heat wave for Western New York!
The true definition of a heat wave is at least 3 days in a row with 90 degree heat. I expect this to occur Sunday through Wednesday of next week. The last time Rochester had 3 consecutive 90 degrees days was back on August 1st through the 3rd of 2007. This isn't necessarily good news for many. Air quality is becoming poor and that will continue through this period. High humidity early next week could make the heat dangerous for the elderly and those with preexisting health issues.
Thanks Scott. I am not a fan of hot and humid, but it is about time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
