MAKING A RUN AT A RECORD FRIDAY

Written by: Brian Neudorff

We're going to make a run at some record warmth on Friday. We will have a warm front lift north later today this will put us in the warm sector and expect our overnight lows to occur in the evening hours with temperatures rising overnight. As the storm system moves through the upper Great Lakes and into Quebec winds will increase from the south and help rise temperatures into the upper 80s and possible a 90 by the afternoon.

The record high for Rochester on Friday is 90. That was set 40 years ago in 1970. It is very possible that we will be close to that tomorrow afternoon. It won't last, a cold front associated with the passing storm system slides through Friday night. This could spark a few showers or thunderstorms but it will also bring cooler weather for the weekend. Our highs over the weekend will fall back into the low to mid 60s.
