TODAY WAS GREAT BUT...

Written by: Bob Metcalfe

Holy cow! Just a teensie bit shy of the record today (as of this writing the high so far was 89) with only minimal time left to hit 90 (for the tie of the record in 1970.) But the more interesting story to me is the drastic drop that will follow.

850mb temperatures today were in the 10-15 degree Celsius range. The image here shows them early Sunday morning. How about zero or even below zero 850 temps? In case you don't know, that means its gonna be cold! Highs will STRUGGLE to breach the mid or upper 50s and 60 could be about as optimistic as we can get. If we can manage to clear the sky late Sunday night, we could be in for one chilly evening.

So I think it is NOW safe to say that this will be the warmest day until next spring/summer. A push like this is very rare, and we don't see any reason to believe that it will happen again. I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted!
