Nice Start, but Cloudier Afternoon
Written by John DiPasquale:
After about a quarter to a half an inch of rain late yesterday through very early this morning, today will turn out to be a pretty decent day with some morning sun fading behind afternoon clouds. There may be a spotty showe or two later today, but for the most part today will be dry. Highs will be fairly mild too, as we should top out somewhere between 65 & 70. Remember the average high today is about 60.
Later tonight into Friday the chances for a few scattered showers/storm will go up with the approach & passage of a strong cold front. Temperatures will remain unseasonably mild through early Friday afternoon, but as the afternoon progresses behind the cold front readings will drop into the 50s by days end. West winds will begin to HOWL late Friday through Saturday, & just accentuate the chill felt this weekend.
Highs over the weekend will only be in the low to mid 50s, but feel more like the 40s due to the gusty winds, especially Saturday. There will also be a few scattered wind driven showers on Saturday, & then some showers developing mainly Sunday afternoon ahead of a weak cold front & area of low pressure.
Early next week may start off a bit damp early Monday, but am hopeful for some clearing during the day Monday. Highs will likely remain in the 50s.
Come Tuesday there may be a BRIEF warm up ahead of a stronger storm & it's warm & cold fronts. There will be some showers/storm accompanying the system Tuesday into Tuesday night. Behind this cold front, it actually may be cold enough for a little snow/mix to be in the air come next Wednesday &/or Thursday, as storm possibly moves up the coast?? Not too concerned about this, but just another reminder from mother nature that winter is not too far away. Stay tuned.
Have a great day WNY!
