Quiet Today, but Stormy East Tomorrow

Written by John DiPasquale:

Definitely better today compared to the last couple of days, but there will still be a chill in the air. Highs on this Friday will climb into the mid 40s under a good amount of sun that will fade some later in the day. The little 'L' in the pic to the left across Georgia will become a much bigger 'L' later tonight into Saturday, as the storm turns into an intense nor'easter while moving up the coast. I guess mother nature is going to be a monster to some of the northeast just before Halloween this year.

Later tonight into Saturday clouds will take over the sky as the nor'easter rapidly strengthens. At this point, it appears that most of the precipitation will stay off to the south & east, but there will probably be a little bit of rain &/or wet snow developing late Saturday morning into the afternoon from south to north. Little, if any, accumulation is expected for most of us, but there once again may be a slushy coating to an inch or two in the hills South of the Thruway and across the Finger Lakes. Of course, if the storm takes more of a westerly track than the current thinking is, it could be a different story for us here in WNY tomorrow. So stay tuned as we continue to update the forecast with the new data through today, tonight & into tomorrow.

Highs will only be in the upper 30s to low 40s on Saturday due to the clouds & a little precipitation.

Later Saturday night into Sunday high pressure will reestablish itself across the northeast & provide us with a nice, but chilly end to the weekend. Highs will range from 45 to 50 on Sunday afternoon.

Halloween still looks not too scary with a little sun & maybe a spirited sprinkle/shower late in the into trick or treat time. Highs will be in the low 50s, & it should be in the upper 40s to around 50 for the kids when they head out.

Have a great weekend everyone!
