Windy & Turning Colder Today
Written by John DiPasquale:
The nor'easter that has provided the region with wind, some rain and cooling temperatures will slowly drift by to the west of WNY tonight. After intervals of sun this morning, more in the way of clouds will return this afternoon with a few showers/drizzle developing as temperatures fall back to near 50 by days end.
Tonight into Friday, the combination of wrap around shower activity on the backside of the slowly departing nor'easter, gusty winds and chilly temperatures will make it feel quite raw. Lows tonight will dip back into the mid 40s, & reach the low & mid 50s to end the week.
This weekend will definitely shape up better thanks to high pressure building in out of the Ohio River Valley. There may be a morning shower or high elevation flurry or two Saturday, otherwise some sun will develop, especially during the afternoon. It will still be a bit brisk & chilly with highs between 50 & 55 to kick off the weekend. On Sunday, it will likely be a frosty start for many, but some sun will help us recover into the mid 50s during the afternoon.
Early next week may start off a bit unsettled with scattered showers accompanying a cold front Monday. Tuesday may be mainly quiet & a bit milder, but a strong cold front will attempt to plow through late Tuesday night into Wednesday & in it's wake we all may see the first flakes of the season! Stay tuned to News 8 & we'll keep you posted.
