Nice Start to November!

Written by John DiPasquale:

How sweet it is to begin November off this way! High pressure reestablishing itself just off to the East will control our weather through the start of Thursday & actually aid in warming us to above average come Wednesday.

A light southerly breeze will blow today on the backside of high pressure, which will warm us a bit more than yesterday into the mid 50s. After a slightly milder & quiet night tonight, we are in store for a breezy, nice & warmer Wednesday with highs between 60 & 65!

Unfortunately, sunshine will give way to more clouds & a spotty shower or two Thursday, as a cold front fairly quietly passes through. Highs Thursday as a result of this will hit the mid to upper 50s. Behind the front, it will turn frosty cold for Friday morning, & despite a lot of sun we will likely struggle to hit 50 or so to end the week.

High pressure providing us that sun Friday will basically control our weather throughout much of the weekend! This could very well mean wall to wall sun and highs in the 50s Saturday, but possibly 60, or even a bit better than that on Sunday with a gusty southerly breeze! There also could be a shower or two passing through later Sunday, but right now most, if not all, of the weekend is looking great, especially for the first weekend of November!

Sorry snow lovers, including myself...it does not appear that the first week to ten days of November will provide much love. We'll see.

  1. John,

I noticed that a few models are hinting at a pattern switch around the middle of the month and have been pretty copnsistent with it. Do you see that as well.

  2. I'm sure all you snow lovers will have a number of opportunities over the next 5 months to rejoice in the snow. Until then, let us bask in what little nice wx is left.

  3. Hi Weatherdan,

I have noticed hints at a pattern change during the middle of the month, but since it is still almost two weeks or so out, I am not getting too excited about it, as a snow lover that is. If I see the forecast data still suggesting this change inside 10 days consistently then I will start getting more interested. I used to look at these long range models & see these huge snowstorm/storms 10 to 14 days & get excited when I started in the field, but quickly came to the realization that not much weight can be put into these scenarios so far out. As Sal said, though, snow lovers I'm sure will have fun times ahead. The big question is how often??

Have a great day & enjoy the nice weather while we have it.

    John

  4. Hi was wondering if anyone can give me some more information about the substance I've been seeing jets spray into the sky. I noticed today on what shouldve been a blue sky sunny day, about four jets were streaking the sky leaving these trails that didn't dissapear. The trails seemed to dissapate over time and leave a haze its really strange. It would be great to be given some more info on the whole thing.
