Sunny & Seasonable Today

Written by John DiPasquale:

What you see is what you get today, which is a good deal of sun with patchy cirrus from time to time. It will be seasonably cool today too, with highs reaching the mid to upper 50s.

Tonight will be chilly, but not as cold as last night, & should be mainly frost free as lows drop into the upper 30s to around 40 for most under a clear to partly cloudy sky.

Our Thursday will feature more clouds, especially later in the day, ahead of a slow moving cold front that should stall before getting here, but may produce an isolated shower/sprinkle late. The stalled front should be just to the west Thursday night & Friday, but likely be close enough to the region to trigger a few widely scattered showers & storms, especially Friday.

Friday night/early Saturday, the stalled front should once again begin to move east as a cold front & produce more numerous showers late Friday night into the weekend. Temperatures behind the front for Saturday & Sunday will also cool back into the upper 40s to mid 50s with a brisk wind. Yes, it's likely not going to look or feel that good this weekend, but we do need the rain. This month we've only picked up just over a third of an inch of precipitation, which is well over an inch below average & the deficit is even larger since March 1st over two & a half inches below "normal"! I guess we have to take when we can get at this point.

Have a great day & enjoy the sun out there today!
