Cooler Start, but Steamy Finish to Holiday Weekend

Written by John DiPasquale:

Whew!  It was pretty hot & muggy on our Friday with a record tying high of 88 occurring during the afternoon with just a few widely scattered showers & storms ahead of a cold front.  The cold front will finally pull through Friday night with an additional isolated shower/storm possible, otherwise we will experience a clear to partly cloudy sky & more comfortable conditions evolving overnight.  Ahh!!!

High pressure will build in from Canada & should provide us with the best day of the holiday weekend under some sun & a bit of a refreshing breeze out of the north off the big lake.  Enjoy!

For those of you that don't like the heat & humidity are not going to be enjoying Sunday afternoon or Memorial Day's increasing heat & humidity.  The cold front moving through Friday night will come back through as a warm front Sunday afternoon with scattered showers & storms expected to develop, but it should not be a washout, so if you have plans outside for Sunday just keep your eye to the sky in order to stay dry.  This will also be the case for Memorial Day, but it appears there will be less shower/storm activity compared to Sunday.  So if you are attending Memorial services &/or having a barbecue keep an eye on that sky & have an umbrella handy in case.  Highs on Sunday should make the low to mid 80s with increasing humidity later in the day, & Memorial Day could very well be the first time we hit 90°+ since last July with lots of humdity!

A strong cold front will blow through later Tuesday/early Tuesday night cooling us significantly come Wednesday, but not before some strong to severe storms could very well come through late Monday night &/or Tuesday.  Something to look forward to if you are a fan of much cooler & less humid conditions, as highs will likely be in the 60s & low 70s for the mid to late week period next week.

Have a great night & holiday weekend everyone!
