Hottest Day of the Week

Written by John DiPasquale:

Steamy start to the new week with highs near 90, & not too far off a record high for the date which is 93 set back in 1973.  The satellite & radar image from earlier today displays where the change of air mass is, & that should be arriving here late tonight & Tuesday with some showers & storms.  A few of the storms will likely drop some downpours, which may lead to some urban & poor drainage flooding.  Highs Tuesday with quite a few clouds & some rain will be cooler in the low 80s, but it will remain quite humid.

Later Tuesday night into Wednesday it will turn cool, as the MUCH COOLER air replaces the steam, & highs despite some sun Wednesday will only reach the low 70s with a gusty, refreshing breeze.

The air will begin to moderate Thursday with highs in the mid to upper 70s under a lot of sunshine, & come Friday & the weekend readings should push back into the low to mid 80s, especially over the weekend with some more sun, & just a slight risk for a couple pop up afternoon & evening showers & storms, mainly south of the Thruway over the Father's Day weekend.  This is great news if you have plans for dad outside!  Stay tuned through the week for updates.  Fingers crossed that the nice forecast holds.

Have a nice day & stay cool WNY!
