Big Time Heat Arrives Friday!

Written by John DiPasquale:

Today we are feeling a break from the heat & somewhat from the humidity compared to what we had on the 4th when low to mid 90s were common place.  Today will feel readings "only" climb into the low to mid 80s, so about 10 degrees cooler than Wednesday & we will also see some decent sunshine!  Enjoy!

Come late tonight/early Friday morning a warm front will pass through & unleash very hot & muggy air on us for Friday & the start of the weekend.  The result will likely be highs in the mid 90s, & heat indices around 100 Friday afternoon & early evening!  Be careful if you have to be out & about tomorrow, especially if you have respiratory issues.  Also keep an eye on the very young, elderly and don't forget about the pets.  There is also a slight risk for a spotty storm or two Friday, as the warm front moves through, but most should stay dry.

It will remain hot & sticky for our Saturday with a few scattered showers & storms probable later in the day into Saturday night.  Any storm that develops later Saturday into Saturday night could be nasty ahead & with the cold front.  Behind the front, it will turn refreshing for the tail end of the weekend into the first part of next week, as highs dip back into the 70s for the most part!  Love the natural AC!

Have a great day WNY!

  1. Today is the last day the sun is up all day directly over the arctic circle. The sun sets for the first time since June 5th. It's only 10 minutes..but it's the right direction for me.

  2. The NWS only has a 30% chance of showers for Saturday. They say the front will be very weak. No rain in the forecast for all next week. Awesome.
