Record Heat Tuesday!?

Written by John DiPasquale:

Today will be very warm & muggy, but our Tuesday will be torrid just as the map above states with a gusty, hot breeze.  Highs will some hazy sun should have no problem making the low to mid 90s with lots of humidity to boot, which will make it feel like about 100 Tuesday afternoon & early evening!  As we've said so many times already this summer, do what you can to stay cool & don't forget about the pets.  The record high for Tuesday is 95 set back in 1900 in Rochester.  It will be close!

Thankfully, the cold front to the north by tomorrow evening will slip through late Tuesday night/Wednesday with some showers & storms, & hopefully the shower/storm activity is not severe, but very widespread & steady.  This will be the best chance of getting appreciable rains this week, & if it does not happen the abnormally dry conditions across the viewing area will turn into a moderate drought very soon!  So keep your fingers & toes crossed that a significant rainfall of at least a half an inch or more occurs during the aforementioned time frame.

Temperatures will go from 90s Tuesday to the 80s Wednesday & possibly mainly 70s Thursday & Friday!  The sun should be plentiful again too by Thursday & especially Friday & Saturday with much lower humidity levels, & that's why it is also very important that we get a nice soaking late Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Have a great start to your week & stay cool!

My understanding of the word POSIBLE is that it might or might not happen. No one said it would rain.
