Some Needed Rain will Give Way to a Sultry 4th

Written by John DiPasquale:

It will be warm & increasingly muggy this afternoon into tonight with a few showers & storms developing this afternoon ahead of & with a warm front.  More numerous showers & storms should be around this evening as the warm slowly pushes through.  Any storm that moves across the region this afternoon & evening has the potential to be strong to severe with damaging wind gusts & large hail.  Stay tuned to News 8 through the remainder of this Tuesday.

After the warm front moves through this evening we will be in for a steamy 4th as depicted in the above graphic.  Highs should be up in the low 90s with lots of humidity, making it feel like the mid to upper 90s!  Yuck!  Do what you can to stay cool on the 4th.  A few scattered storms will also be popping up tomorrow, but as a whole there should be plenty of dry time for your outdoor activities for the holiday which hopefully entails swimming or hanging out in a body of water.  Be sure to keep an eye to the sky when you are out & about tomorrow & have an umbrella handy too in case one of those storms pops where you are.

A cold front will pass by late on Wednesday & should clear any shower/storm activity out of here just in time for the many firework shows tomorrow night!  Behind the cold front, it will turn cooler & less humid late Wednesday night into Thursday, but it will still be quite warm with highs reaching into the mid 80s on Thursday.

High pressure building in Thursday & Thursday night will shift to the south & east on Friday allowing more heat & humidity to build back in briefly, before it gets snuffed out by Saturday's cold front.  Scattered storms appear to be likely Saturday with the front that will lead to a really nice & comfy end to the weekend.

Have a nice night & stay cool everyone!
