July Returns for a Couple of Days

Written by John DiPasquale:

Near record cold early this morning to near record heat Tuesday and for that matter possibly Wednesday!  Highs on your Monday will be in the low to mid 70s with intervals of sun and a nice breeze, but 90 to 95 should be felt here with a gusty, toasty southwest wind for Tuesday & Wednesday.  Humidity levels will also be high Tuesday & Wednesday with a slight risk for a spotty storm or two Tuesday, & a better chance of a few storms popping Wednesday, as a cold front nears.  The record high on Tuesday & Wednesday is 94°, with Tuesday's record standing since 1897!  It's going to be close!

A strong cold front will cross the area late Wednesday night/Thursday morning with some showers & storms, a few of which could be a little strong.  After the cold front scoots through it will cool off during the day Thursday back through the 70s into the 60s by day's end.  Come Friday we will likely be hard pressed to make 60 with a gusty, chilly wind & a few lake effect showers.  What a difference a day or two makes!!

Some frost will then be possible early Saturday for at least some, but at this early juncture the weather looks very sunny for the weekend with highs in the 60s Saturday & up around 70 Sunday.  Stay tuned to News 8 for updates throughout the week.

Have a nice start to your week WNY!

  1. There's a chance tomorrow's heat index will approach 100 degrees, pretty absurd for mid September. Then frost is possible just 3 days later...it's as if Denver's climate is paying us a brief visit, only with more humidity.
