OOPS! HOW OFTEN IS THIS HAPPENING?!

Written by: Bob Metcalfe

I came across an interesting article a few days ago that I just had to share with you all. It can be found by clicking here.

Don't want to read the whole article? Okay, fine, I'll summarize for you. Apparently the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center suffered a bit of a glitch. Okay, a big one. A short time ago, a faulty sensor made a "minor" mistake of reporting open seas when they were in fact covered by arctic sea ice. How big was the area you ask? Approximately 193,000 square miles, which is roughly the size of California.

This just goes to show you that no matter what side it is coming from, the "global warming" debate will continue indefinitely. We see instances of faulty weather data from bad sensors as well, and if it goes unnoticed long enough, it too can skew long term and short term data. Bottom line: it's a big earth, its a big topic, and boy do we have a long way to go before we can make any conclusions!
