LOOKING FOR SNOW REPORTS
Written by: Brian Neudorff
Morning everyone, another storm has come and gone. Not much snow here in Rochester, from where I live in Brighton and here in Rochester where WROC is located I would estimate around 2 inches. How much snow do you have? Especially those south of Rochester and into the Southern Tier.
Once the snow passes we get a break this afternoon and tonight which continues into Wednesday. Temperatures will fall into the teens this afternoon. Winds will be northeast, 10 to 20 mph so watch for some areas of blowing and maybe drifting snow on area roads.
We will track the next possible storm going into late Thursday and Friday for another system that may go south of us again but bring snow to the Southern Tier and even Rochester.
Light coating in Hilton. We are still looking at grass. Come on spring!
ReplyDeleteAn inch or 2 in West Webster. And welcome to Stacey - you're doing a good job!
ReplyDelete3 to 4 in the hills north of Dansville.
ReplyDeleteI measured 4" on my deck at 8:45 this morning and it is still snowing, here in Wayland.
ReplyDelete4-5 inches on the hill above Naples
ReplyDeleteAbout 2 inches in Lyons but it appears that there is some lake effect or lake enhancement now affecting us.
ReplyDelete3.5 in the village of Dansville, still snowing at 10am
ReplyDeleteJust want to say that Stacey did an excellent job pin pointing the snowfall totals for the region on Sunday. Her snowfall accumulation map last night was just about spot on. Great work Stacey!
ReplyDeleteAnywhere from 2-6 inches. What's gong on late week, accuweather says a big storm for the end of the week. I go on gfs for weather underground and it seems to be pretty active for us coming up and looks like it has 3 events coming up. Do you See anything down the road?
ReplyDelete3" in Gates.
ReplyDeletejUST ABOUT 2 INCHES IN GANANDA. PRETTY MUCH WHAT WAS EXPECTED.
ReplyDeleteANother bum deal for Rochester. We continue to dodge every single storm.
ReplyDeleteBetween 3-4 inches here in between Farmington and Canandaigua. I think this Thurs-Fri we won't see much of what I would call a storm. I guess there could be a "storm" every 2-3 days...I guess it depends on how ya define a "storm." Still hoping for a big whopper...but something tells me it aint happening this year.
ReplyDeleteWe will have the opportunity to dodge a few more this Friday and next week. Early but a week from today looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteJoe Bastardi has left Accuweather after 32 years according to following quote off of an accuweather forum:
ReplyDelete“We are pleased to announce the promotion of Paul Pastelok to the role of leader of AccuWeather’s Long-Range Forecasting Team. Paul has been a key player in the Long-Range Team for many years and will continue our dedication to providing our clients with the most exceptional service.
Joe Bastardi has left AccuWeather after a distinguished 32-year career. We at AccuWeather appreciate Joe’s dedicated service to our clients over these many years.
AccuWeather’s commitment to your success remains our top priority. “
The models always look interesting for us until the storm arrives and misses us
ReplyDeleteYep, even the storms that are expected to hit us just one day into the future find a way to veer and miss us at the last minute...and if they can't find a way to veer, they instead bring us a mix that keeps the snow from piling up. If I didn't know any better, i'd almost swear it was happening intentionally.
ReplyDeleteBig Storm Thur Friday for us. Take it to bank.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about friday but on nooa and thier gfs maps there are some big lows over or near ny state. next two minor according to nooa. Also said a decent storm next week tracking to our west. But if any of those gfs maps for 3/1 and those other days that i saw especially map 192, biggest one iv'e seen yet of a model!
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice if what is about 50 miles south of Alfred would.work its way north!!
ReplyDeleteYep, it has been confirmed. Joe Bastardi has abruptly resigned from Accuweather.
ReplyDeleteTHE NWS SUMS UP THIS FRUSTRATING WINTER FOR US:
ReplyDeleteSNOWFALL FROM PAST EVENT SHOWED A SHARP GRADIENT ACROSS OUR REGION.SRN TIER LOCATIONS RECEIVED A SOLID 8 TO 10 INCHES...BUT NORTHERN SECTIONS FROM BUFFALO TO ROCHESTER GENERALLY JUST 2 TO 4 INCHES...PAR FOR THE COURSE THIS "NICKEL AND DIME" WINTER AS WE CONTINUE TO AVOID SIGNIFICANT SYNOPTIC SNOW.
100 INCHES OF boring NICKLE AND DIME SNOW!!!!!
THE STORM ON FRIDAY WILL GIVE US RAIN. THEN A VERY WEAK LOW ON SUNDAY WITH FLURRIS AND THEN A big STORM ON MONDAY-TUESDAY GOING TO OUR WEST WITH RAIN
ReplyDeleteTHE BEAT GOES ON. STORMS TO OUR SOUTH AND EAST, STORMS TO OUR WEST AND NORTH. UNBELIEVABLE. I SWEAR WE ARE IN A BUBBLE IN WESTERN, NY THAT VEERS STORMS AWAY FROM US.
100" of back breaking slop and you think we've been missed??? Unbelievable. You should move to Boonville.
ReplyDeleteHope that rain forecast comes true for next week. Somehow I seem to be shoveling a lot of "rain".
Why shovel? Get a snow blower....
ReplyDeleteWe have missed every single storm. the 100" is 95% lake effect fluff, not bakc breaking slop. We have not had a storm hit us directly this year. We are always on the fringe and we have been nickle and dimed all winter to achieve that 100. We would have had a banner, record breaking year if just 2 of these storms hit us.
ReplyDeletecheck out video more storms for the east this week on accuweather.
