Back to Winter Today

Written by John DiPasquale:

The winds of change are blowing winter back in this morning, after we felt the warmest day of 2011 Monday when Rochester's temperature peaked at 66! This morning will be a rude awakening as a little rain & snow will be in the air with temperatures in the 30s & feel like readings only in the 20s to low 30s. Thankfully, I believe enough dry air will build in later this afternoon to eventually lead to some sun developing.

Tonight will be quiet & chilly, but come tomorrow there will be a weak area of low pressure scooting through with clouds & a few rain & snow showers possible. After tomorrow's little system the weather will turn pretty tranquil & pleasant Thursday before a couple more fairly weak systems attempt to throw a few showers at us later Friday into the weekend. The way it looks now though, the weekend will feature some dry time & 60 something degree temperatures, which is great news for the home opener for the Red Wings Saturday afternoon. Stay tuned for more details in the days to come.
