YOU'RE IN THE "WARM SECTOR"

Written By: Scott Hetsko

A warm front has moved North of Rochester and temperatures have soared! Notice the 60 degree or higher air in Western NY while Watertown remains "chilly" in the 50s.

Colder air will arrive overnight as the mercury tumbles to around 40 degrees by 7 a.m. Tuesday. A strong wind will prevail Tuesday from the West at 15-30 miles per hour.

  2. Scott,
When's our next chance for an extended period of warm weather?

  3. Extended warmth isn't in the cards for awhile. April rarely brings more than 4 days in a row of warm air. Consistent warmth usually waits until May.

  4. 66F at the Rochester airport at 6PM. I'm pretty sure that's the high for the day so far. Feels great out there.

    Scott,
What time do you expect the front to cross Rochester? I'm curious how much longer we have left to enjoy these balmy temps today.

  7. Well we did not receive the 1-2 inches that the NWS was forecasting. I do not think we even received a half inch.

  8. I do agree, the National Weather Service has been particularly trigger happy with issuing the Flood Watches lately. I never took this Watch serious from the beginning, even if we did get an inch or so of rain.

  9. Scott said the front would pass between 9PM and midnight. As of 10:30, the front is crossing Monroe county. Great Job, Scott. The front is coming through right smack in the middle of your range.

  10. We're not in the warm sector anymore...37 and a cold raw rain. Short spring, don't you think?
