A Nice Taste of Spring!

Written by John DiPasquale:

Ahh...as you can see just off to the left of this blog, unseasonably warm air will be blown in from the south southwest in advance of strengthening storm to the north & west. Unfortunately, there will be some occasional rain, heavy at times, & possibly a t-storm or two today. The 1 to 2"+ of rain combined with a bit of snow melt in the hills from late Sunday night through the start of Tuesday could lead to some flooding in spots, especially in flood prone areas.
Temperatures today should spike into the low & mid 60s later today! Toward midnight a strong cold front will charge in & through with some more rain & a gusty t-storm or two possible. Behind the cold front, temperatures will crash back into the 30s & low 40s by Tuesday morning with a few morning rain showers mixed with snow possible. So while we will get a nice shot of warmth today, it will not last long. However, after Wednesday temperatures should be at, if not above average for the last half of the week & upcoming weekend. Spring is trying to flex it's muscle!

  1. This is an interesting day to watch that warm front approach. At 8AM it was 45F in Rochester, but 64F in Erie, PA. It's on the way!

  4. Anybody hear what sounds like that distinctive roar of an F-14 or F-15 Fighter jet fly around Rochester every night between 11 PM and midnight? It's definitely not a commercial airline.

  7. Finally!!! Not much sun (what else is new) but at least not much wind and comfortable.
Took the 63 out for a short ride and hit a bucket of balls--would be nice to be able to get used to that. Looks like we will continue to drown for the foreseeable future. At least it'll be a warmer drowning.
