Finally Feeling Like Spring

Written by: Stacey Pensgen

We all know the saying "location is everything." That also goes for weather, and Monday's storm system should pass by to our northwest, leaving us in the 'warm sector' during the day. While rain is likely early Monday morning, then again late as the warm and cold fronts pass through, the sun could poke through the clouds occasionally, boosting temperatures into the 60s. Depending on just how much sun we get, some of us could reach the mid 60s.

The down side of the deep storm system - the winds. It will become quite windy during the day, and especially on Tuesday as it leaves us and colder air filters in behind it.

While the weather next week will be unsettled, with a few disturbances passing through, temperatures will generally be at, or possibly even slightly above average. It took a while, but it looks like Spring may finally be here...for now!

  5. Not a bad early afternoon today. I've been outside doing some yard
work since about 9 this morning. It feels good to be outside doing something besides shovel snow.

  8. According to the NWS, 1.5 to 2.0" of rain. Looks like a slight risk for strong to severe thunderstorms in advance of the sharp cold front that will replace tomorrow's 60 degrees with 40's. Greatest potential will probably be south of here though. Might be a very serious severe weather (including tornado) outbreak across the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys.

  9. They always forecast high rain totals and they never pain out..50 to .75 is what we will get. Stacey, how about next Saturday for the Red Wings opener. It looks like it will be warm and the rain will be early in the day. The game is at 4pm.
