DOWN CAME THE RAIN...

Written By: Scott Hetsko

The first wave of rain was the heaviest as low pressure slowly works through Eastern Pennsylvania this afternoon. Thick stratus clouds have helped keep the air below 50 degrees today. As the low continues to suffer an increase in air pressure, the lift which was there earlier is fading. This means that showers will begin to diminish this evening.

High pressure will result in more sunshine here by mid morning Thursday and all of Friday!

  3. Over 1/2 inch in Lyons. I think we still need that "warm" rain to green things up around here. seems like every time it rains, it's a cold 40 degree or 50 degree rain. Even the weekend rain looks to be cold.

  4. Yep nothing is going to grow with temps this cold. Poor farmers this year. It's been cold and their fields are water logged. Scott is there any long range data that suggests we'll get out of this pattern or even reverse the pattern? or is this a sign of the general summer pattern, chilly and wet with only brief warmups?

  5. I'd like to know the same thing. Other weather outlets seem to be hinting at a colder than average spring/summer.

  6. Too early to predict Summer. Last Summer was the opposite of many predictions so we need to take trend forecasting with a grain of salt. We will have our Summer Forecast with the severe weather special airing on April 30th!

Same thing with this past winter...the opposite of what many predicted.
