Nice, but Cool Today
Written by John DiPasquale: A very strong area of high pressure located over Southeastern Canada will provide a good deal of sun to the region today. However, some high clouds will begin to spill into the sky more so later this afternoon & early evening. Those high clouds will be a precursor for what's to come from the south & west for our Saturday, refer to Friday 8:30AM pic on the left. It will be very windy & wet, with occasional rain, heavy at times, tomorrow, but I do believe we will dry out some tomorrow night into Sunday. Temperatures will remain cool through the weekend with low 50s tomorrow & upper 40s to around 50 Sunday, despite some sun to finish out the weekend. On Sunday, we cannot even rule out a few flakes of snow, mainly over the high terrain, mixing in with a few scattered rain showers. I know, that's the last thing you want to hear. Unfortunately, I do not see any major changes in the long wave pattern to provide us with much, if any, really warm weather through much of the rest of this month. The big question is...will this pattern carry us into the summer? It's a little early to tell, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was cooler than average this summer after a pretty hot summer last year. Stay tuned. Have a great Friday & weekend everyone!
