Where's the Warmth?

Written by: Stacey Pensgen

Alright, many of you (including me) are saying, "enough already! Where's the warmth?" At this point last year, 12 of the first 16 days in April were 60 degrees or warmer. This year, we've recorded 4 days over 60.

While I don't have any prolonged periods of warmth for you coming up in the next week, but we do have several rather strong storm systems heading out way that will draw brief warmth into the area. These are forecast to scoot by to our north and west, keeping us on the warm side.

Our first one arrives Tuesday into Wednesday, with a little "warm-up," if you will, on Wednesday, where we could reach 70 with the help of good ol' warm air advection.

Another system takes aim at us late week and into the weekend with more wind, rain and "warmer" temps. As far as prolonged warmth goes, I've got my sights set on late April/early May. Think warm!

  5. So, to get some warmth here, we need a series of strong storms. Not too encouraging. Well, if we're going to have a crummy Spring, why not go all out? Maybe we can get some snow in May!
