Summery with Sct. Showers & a Few Storms Today
Written by John DiPasquale:
Scattered showers & storms will affect the area this afternoon & evening. A few storms may become strong to severe, but with some extra clouds around this afternoon this will likely limit or not allow for much if any severe weather to be realized today. Stay tuned to News 8 for the latest.
A cold front will slowly move through tomorrow morning with some clouds & a passing shower or two. Behind the front, it will turn cooler & less humid with some filtered sun slowly developing on our Tuesday. Temperatures will be in the low 70s for highs tomorrow. Come Wednesday, abundant sun through much of the day will provide for a real gem of day. Highs on Wednesday should make the low 70s once again. Unfortunately, the next system will begin spreading some clouds into the area before Wednesday is finished, which will lead to some showers & storms Thursday. Behind Thursday & Friday morning's system it will turn a bit cool for Friday, but we should recover with some sun this upcoming holiday weekend. Right now it appears there might be a weak system attempting to produce a few showers across parts of the area on Saturday, but the holiday weekend looks pretty good as of now. Stay tuned for the latest as new data becomes available we will update you along the way. Keep your fingers crossed for nice weather to kick off the unofficial start to summer!
Have a great afternoon & night everyone!
Scott, you still seem to have a positive spin on the long weekend forecast. This is in contrast to the NWS which now indicates the models are trending back to an unsettled weekend with several opportunities for showers and storms.
ReplyDeleteI do? I expect occasional showers and storms from Thursday right on through Sunday. That's in my forecast.

Yeah, sorry Scott. I read John's blog which was posted late, thinking it was from you. He said he thought the long weekend looked "pretty good."
ReplyDeleteI saw your broadcast at 5 and discovered, to my displeasure, that you weren't too up-beat about the weekend. Sorry for the confusion...on my part.
I, personally, think it looks pretty good. For one thing...we shouldn't have any all day long, "wash out" kind of rain this weekend. And secondly, we should have comfortably mild temperatures, rather than the chilly rainy crap we dealt with a week ago. I'd call it pretty good, as well.
ReplyDeleteHi guys, Looking at the latest data it does look kind of touch & go, but still not one day looks to be a washout at this point & Memorial Dad should be the best with some sun & cooler readings. Still several days out & a lot of time for that to change, so I guess time will really tell what lies in our future. Fingers & toes crossed. Come on Mother Nature, give us a break!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry the last post was by John DiPasquale.
