Mainly Dry through Weekend

Written by John DiPasquale:

A small bubble of high pressure will be providing us with a nice Thursday with some sun & seasonably warm temperatures.

Tonight will be nice & quiet, but tomorrow there will likely be a small fly in the ointment as a weak cold front with an area of low pressure passes by to the north. This will cause a light southerly wind to develop over us late tonight into Friday which will bring lingering moisture down south across PA to the north. This will lead to a small chance for a spotty afternoon shower/storm or two, especially south & east of Rochester. Temperatures will be up in the low 80s for highs to end the week.

Yet another area of high pressure will then swing in tomorrow night into Saturday & provide us with tons of sun & more warmth. It looks like it's going to be a great pool &/or beach weekend! High pressure will slowly shift to the east of the area sending winds into more of a south southwest directition. The south southwest flow will send temperatures to near 90 with a bit more humidity to round out the weekend & cook us even more so to begin next week.

Come early next week the heat should peak with highs around 90 with a few scattered showers & storms likely developing later in the day ahead of a strong cold front. Much more refreshing air will return for Tuesday & Wednesday next week with highs dropping back mainly into the 70s!

Have a great day & enjoy the nice weather WNY!

  3. weatherdan, I'm not sure where you live, but we had some sun shinning through much of the day in the Greater Rochester area. It was blocked out at times by the high & mid level clouds, but for the most part it was just dimmed for the majority of the day.

Definitely could use some rain, but for the most part it does not look like we are going to get it for some time. It's a balancing game that mother nature is playing right now. Don't worry she'll take it the other way at some point in the next couple months. Have a great weekend! John DiPasquale
