Record Rains Sunday; More Rain Today
Written by John DiPasquale:
Have you had enough rain yet?? After the 1.21" of rainfall in Rochester Sunday afternoon and evening, I would say mother nature is definitely try to play catch in the rainfall category. Already this month alone we have had 3.54" in Rochester, which is almost 2" above average through the 14th of August! This past weekend Rochester received 1.75" of rain, & to put it into perspective all of July Rochester had just 1.81" with 1.13" falling on one day at the end of the month! We will likely add at least a bit more to those rainfall stats this afternoon into tonight, before some drier & nicer weather develops tomorrow thanks to high pressure.
High pressure will slowly scour out the low clouds, fog & linger shower/drizzle & allow for some sun to develop during the late morning & afternoon hours Tuesday. High pressure should also keep us protected right through Wednesday with more sun & warmer temperatures. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 70s, while we should hit the low & mid 80s Wednesday.
A weak cold front will slide in & through later Thursday into Thursday night with a few scattered showers & storms. Behind the front, we will turn a bit cooler & less humid for Friday with some sun & then warm back up over the weekend. As of now, it appears most of the weekend will be dry with just a slight risk for a couple of showers & storms late Sunday. Have a great rest of your Monday & try to stay dry later today everyone!
