Pretty Nice Today

Written by John DiPasquale:

A blend of clouds & sun will be with us for the majority of our Wednesday with more in the way of clouds to finish the day. There will likely be a few widely scattered showers/storm popping up late in the day today, as weak disturbance moves through. Later tonight into Thursday morning will most likely feature more numerous showers/storm with the approach & crossing of a weakening cold front. Behind the front, we should turn mainly dry for our Thursday afternoon with breaks of sun possible. After hitting the mid to high 70s this afternoon, Thursday's highs will dip back into the low to mid 70s.

Then a big, healthy upper level low will slowly inch closer to the region, but remain just to the south & west & act as a moisture pump. This will likely cause periods of rain to develop Friday into Saturday. High temperatures for the first two days of fall will be within a couple of degrees of 70.

By Sunday, we are hopeful that the upper level low will wrap itself up & cut off the southerly flow of moisture at least temporarily. Highs should make the low 70s with a bit of sun possible. Signs are that early next week will become kind of unsettled again as the upper level storm slides overhead or close to it anyways. This will likely set the stage for occasional showers & cooler temperatures. Stay tuned to News 8 for the latest.

Have a great day WNY!
