On The Way To A Heat Wave?
With a high of 91 at Rochester's airport on Wednesday and highs predicted well into the 90's today and at an even 90 degrees for tomorrow, we could be on the way to the season's first heat wave. A heat wave is comprised of three consecutive days of 90-degree-plus heat.
On top of a potential heat wave, we'll also threaten Thursday's record of 96 from 1944 with a predicted afternoon high of 95.

Historically, it seems as though August is a hot month. When was the longest heat wave in August where Rochester had 90 degree or above weather?
ReplyDeleteSince the National Weather Service records began in 1926, the most days in a row with 90+ was 9. It occurred in 1973, beginning August 28 and ending September 5th. Some hot stuff!
