This Thanksgiving: A Tale of Two Seasons

Written by: Jonathan Myers

Although it's really the only game in town, the complex system strewn across Western New York, into the Ohio Valley, and through the Rockies is packing quite a wallop. Today, east of the system, it's all rain with mild temperatures generally ranging from the 50's to the 60's up and down the Northeast Coast. To the west, temperatures fall into the 30's and rain changes to snow over the Midwest.

Here in Rochester, we are in the milder air today, with rain expected. On Turkey Day, though, the storm system will pass off to our east, with a drastic change in store, equating to a dramatic shift to colder, and possibly whiter, weather. For Thanksgiving, we should see temperatures hampered only in the 30's and rain mixing with, and changing to, snow. We could even have a coating to 2" of slop on the ground by the time you sit down to dinner!
