Tracking The Next Potential Snow Maker

Written by: Jonathan Myers

With a storm system forecast to track nearly overhead, or just to our west, during the second half of the weekend, a messy mixture of snow, sleet, and rain could be on tap for your plans on Sunday.

The current forecast track would allow cold air to hold in during the start of the storm's precipitation Sunday morning, but milder air would intrude for the second half of the storm Sunday afternoon. This would mean snow to start Sunday morning but a change to sleet and rain by Sunday evening. If this were to occur, we would hold the most major snow accumulations off to our north and west, giving us mainly more minor snow accumulations during the first portion of Sunday morning.

If the track should move farther north, it would mean more rain for us, while a track farther south would support more snow or even no precipitation at all. We'll keep on eye on this one!
