WHAT IS THIS CLOUD?!

At a glance, it looks like the ship from "Independence Day". I've never seen anything like it, and chances are you haven't either.

This is a picture of a cloud that appeared over Moscow last Wednesday. Speculators and believers in the supernatural hypothesized that it was indeed a UFO, or perhaps proof of weather modification.

I can tell you this. There is no cloud that looks like this in our classifications. Meteorologists there described it as a rare meteorological optical occurrence after a series of fronts. Think of it as our version of the Virgin Mary showing up in a grilled cheese sandwich, or tree trunk, or in a rain stained sidewalk... you get my drift.
