STORM CONTINUE ALONG EAST COAST
Written by: Brian Neudorff
Our weather remain quiet going into the weekend and early next week, but one of the big weather stories remains the remnants of Ida. This storm continues to batter the Atlantic coast. Thursday this storm brought high winds and huge waves to the coast of Virginia. This caused flooding for coastal towns and high winds caused power outages for nearly 150,000 people. It has also bee responsible for 5 deaths across three states.
The area of high pressure that has kept us clear, cold and sunny is keeping this storm blocked and along the coast. Today worst of the storm moves a little north and east and will impact the New Jersey coast. More winds and waves will cause possible power outages and coastal flooding along the Jersey shore. The Coast Guard called off a search for three fishermen who's boat sank 20 miles off the Jersey coast Wednesday night.
