Written by: Brian Neudorff

The snow didn't last very long and now we prepare ourselves for a good soaking rain. A storm system is coming out of the Gulf of Mexico and over the next 24 to 36 hours will quickly zoom northeastward through the Tennessee Valley and the Appalachians into Canada. There is a lot of moisture and rain associated with this system.

The heaviest of the rain will fall closer to the eastcoast. This will have the threat for severe weather as well as winds and flooding rain. As the system and rain enter western New York. We will still get a good soaking rain but not to concerned with flooding.

Rain should arrive Wednesday evening continue through the overnight into Thursday morning. It will be steady with times of moderate to heavy showers. The above graphic is future casts take on the rain this evening and overnight. It prints out that many places across western New York could see three quarters to an inch of rain by Thursday morning.
